BASIS FOR THE PARTICIPATION IN THE AWARDS OF THE
23th INTERNATIONAL GUITAR COMPETITION "CITY OF CORIA" 2019
FIRST.- OBJECT
The purpose of these rules is to establish the regulations and rules that govern the participation in the awards of the 23th International Guitar Competition "Ciudad de Coria" 2019, and the obligations arising therefrom.
SECOND.- BENEFICIARIES OF THE CALL
The students enrolled in the 23th International Guitar Festival "Ciudad de Coria" 2019 can be beneficiaries of these awards.
THIRD.- DURATION
"Junior" competition:
Date: Thursday, August 8th, 2019
"Senior" Competition:
Qualifying: Wednesday, August 7th, 2019
Semifinals: Thursday, August 8th, 2019
Final: Friday, August 9th, 2019
FOURTH.- PARTICIPATION
All the guitarists enrolled in the following modalities will be able to participate:
MODALITY A: ACTIVE STUDENT.
MODALITY B: STUDENT LIST + COMPETITION.
The winner of the first prize of the previous editions will be excepted.
The competition will have two categories: "Junior" competition and "Senior" competition.
Each participant may participate in only one category.
"Junior" competition
- Age: Up to 18 years old. Participants may not have reached the age of 19 during the celebration of the competition.
- Competitors will interpret a free program with a maximum time of 20 minutes.
"Senior" competition.
It will consist of three phases: Eliminatory, Semifinal and Final.
- Eliminatory stage:
a) A work to be chosen among the following will be interpreted:
A movement of the "Black Decameron" by Leo Brouwer.
A prelude to Johann Sebastian Bach.
A study or a prelude by Héctor Villa-Lobos
Variations on a Mozart theme. Op. 9 by Fernando Sor (without repetitions).
"Elogio de la danza", by L. Brouwer.
"In the wheat fields", by Joaquín Rodrigo.
A bagatella by Willian Walton.
A sonata by Domenico Scarlatti.
A waltz by Antonio Lauro.
b) In addition, one or more works of free choice will be interpreted. The maximum duration of the elimination phase will be 10 minutes.
- Semi-final:
A free repertoire whose duration will not exceed 20 minutes will be performed.
In the semifinal stage the works already performed in the elimination phase can not be interpreted.
- Final:
A free repertoire whose duration will not exceed 25 minutes will be performed.
In the final stage the works already performed in the eliminatory and semifinal phases can not be interpreted.
Competitors will be obliged to respect the maximum duration established for each of the tests.
The Jury reserves the right to interrupt the participant only in case it exceeds the time allowed.
FIFTH.- REQUESTS
All those interested in participating in the 23th Awards of the International Guitar Competition "Ciudad de Coria" 2019, must fill out the form published on the Festival website www.guitarracoria.com, which also appears as Annex I to these Bases, in addition to fill the authorization model in case of minor, Annex II, from the day following the publication of the extract of this call in the Official Gazette of the Province (Boletín Oficial de la Provincia, BOP), until July 20th, 2019, inclusive.
SIXTH.- VALUATION CRITERIA
Different aspects of the interpretation of the participants will be analyzed, such as: musicality, phrasing, articulation, sound, technical mastery of the instrument, ability to communicate with the public, etc., these criteria being assessed with a score of 0 to 10 points, without prejudice to the possibility of declaring any prize desert, in case of not obtaining the minimum score of 5.
In case of a tie, the prize will be distributed equally among the participants who have obtained the same score.

The public attending the Final Phase will be given a ballot with the names of the finalists. The spectators attending all the performances of the Final will indicate on this ballot the guitarist who, in his opinion, is the winner of the First Prize. They will deposit the paper

Not be in any of the circumstances listed in art. 13 of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General of Subsidies, nor 12 of Law 6/2011, of March 23, of Grants of the Autonomous Community of Extremadura, to obtain the condition of beneficiary of the subsidy.
