INTRODUCTION
It should be noticed that the international guitar course and competition, ‘Ciudad de Coria’, has achieved an important place within the musical world of Extremadura during the nine years it has been taking place, with a clear national and international projection.
The Town Hall would like to thank those institutions that have supported us, to the local school of music for their tireless work, to the artists for their sensitivity and wisdom, to the contestants for their dedication and perseverance, and to those citizens from Coria and from other places that take part in this festival.
COMPETITION:
1- All the guitarists registered in the guitar course will be able to participate in the category of: A) Active students B) listener student + competition, except the winners of previous editions.
2- It consists of two stages: 1. The qualifying stage 2. The Final one.
QUALIFYING STAGE:
a) It will be played a piece of music chosen among the following ones:b) In addition, it will be played one or more pieces of music never longer than 10 minutes.
FINAL STAGE:
A free repertoire will be played never longer than 25 minutes.
In the final stage, the pieces already played in the qualifying stage will not be able to be repeated.
JURY:
It will be formed by music and culture. The decision will be final.

Prize to the best classified local resident in Extremadura:
To compete for this prize, the contestant must present, before his performance, a residence certificate in any villages of the autonomous region of Extremadura.
Prize from the Audience:
Those present to the final stage will be given a ballot paper with the finalists’ names.
Those present to all the final performances will indicate in these ballot papers the guitarist’s name that, in their opinion, deserves the first prize and will place it in the ballot box. When all the performances have finished, a recount will be done, on the stage and in presence of the audience, to award this prize from the audience.
When entering this competition, the contestants agree with the conditions and the jury’s decision, resigning to all claim.

Three kinds of registration are offered:
Active students will be taught by two teachers, being able to attend to all of them like listeners.
The organization, according to the free vacancies, will designate two teachers who will give the lessons to each participant. Students can choose their teacher in the registration form in case we could assign them.
METHOD OF PAYMENT:
The registration form and the bank ticket will be addressed to the following direction:

Closing date: 20th of July.
After this date, the amount of the registration will not be given back even though you do not attend the Course and Competition.
When the Course has finished, all the participants will receive an attendance diploma.

- Print it, fill in all the fields (by mechanic means or by hand, in capital letters) and send it following the instructions contained in that document.

It will begin on 4th of August at 9:00. The lessons will take place at the Arts Centre (Plaza de la Solidaridad-Avda Sierra de Gata). The lists including the timetable that corresponds to each student will be shown in the notice board at the Arts Centre and in the Web site that informs about the festival development that will be published in July.
The same day, at 22:00, Ricardo Gallén will perform the first concert. Shortly, it will be announced the day of the draw to decide the performance order in the competition.
The guitar course is mainly addressed to students and guitarists of Average and Superior Degree , and to professional artists.
